Steve Sejoon Kahng, M.M. / Guitar, Production, Artist Development
Steve Sejoon Kahng was born in Seoul, Korea, and received a diploma in music production and engineering from Berklee College of Music in 1997. He then relocated to Los Angeles and worked as a staff engineer at Enterprise Studios in Burbank, CA. His next major position was at the postproduction company Technicolor as an audio mastering engineer. He has over twenty years of experience in major music and postproduction studios in Los Angeles.
Steve has worked with well-known Korean pop artists and songwriters including Lee Moon Sae, Choi Moon Seok, Lim Heonil, and Ryu Seok Won, as well as American session greats Tim Pierce, James Harrah, Russ Miller, Gregg Bissonette, Matt Bissonette, Jerry Watts, Isaias Elpes, George Shelby, Harry Kim, and Luis Conte. He currently owns his production and recording studio, EJ Music Studios, located in the Koreatown neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles.
Steve also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics/Statistics from Korea University as well as a master’s degree in guitar performance from California State University, Los Angeles. He is a seasoned guitarist in pop, rock, Contemporary Christian Music, and classical styles. He has performed with Bob Fitts, John Ferraro, John Pena & Rique Pantoja. His main influences as a guitarist are Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, Larry Carlton and Christopher Parkening.
